Retro-Commissioning is the process of testing and recalibrating the base building systems to restore them to optimal performance. root9B Technologies’s retro-commissioning service conducts a study of the entire building, including a review of past utility bills and interviews with the building management. Following the preliminary study, diagnostic monitoring and functional tests of building systems will be executed and analyzed. root9B Technologies’s ENERGY STAR® Labeling & Certification provides a review of building operations to ensure that minimum operational standards are met to apply for the Energy Star certification. This service includes Building Characteristic Survey & Utility Usage Review, Lighting and Ventilation Review, Energy Star Application, Submission and Certification.
root9B Technologies will conduct an on-site survey of building characteristics and compile & review all energy usage data required for Energy Star Certification. In order to apply for the Energy Star certification, the building must meet minimum standards in ventilation and lighting. root9B Technologies will review operating conditions during on-site survey to ensure general compliance with ASHRAE Standard 62.1 and ASHRAE Standard 55.
Once all building characteristics, utility usage, lighting conditions and ventilation standards have been confirmed, root9B Technologies will complete the application and manage the submission to the EPA. For buildings that qualify for Energy Star with a score of 75 or higher, root9B Technologies will complete the filing necessary to be designated with an Energy Star label. For buildings that score below a 75, root9B Technologies will perform an in-depth analysis to identify cost efficient opportunities for improvement that will allow the building to achieve a higher score and earn an Energy Star label.
